What is Curate?

The editor likes the definition of "curate" provided by the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary that showcases the deliberateness of the term. Curate is what its name suggests. The editor of Curate reads widely in literary journals both print and online. All of the poets you see featured here have been invited to submit on the merit of their work as it has already appeared in the world. The editor arranges the poems in a specific order, meaning to create a streamlined reading experience that does justice to the core truth of the poet's work. The editor cares for the poems and the poets. She will not be rushed. Their work is valuable and deserving of attention.

The editor loves ecopoetry, writing about landscape, nature, and place. The editor loves work that uses language purposefully and specifically. It is highly likely that you will see a lot of that kind of work in Curate. This is not the only kind of work you may see here though. The editor loves all sorts of poetry and whoever she adores may appear here, no matter if they write about trees or technology.

Who is the Editor?

The editor is a human female. At the beginning of this adventure, she did not know how much she wished to have a name here. She is not the point, after all, and it seemed a little vain to her at the time. The editor understood that she must probably name herself in order to add a measure of credibility to this project. The editor is a published writer herself. The editor is a librarian as well. The editor is a professor at a university where she is a librarian. The editor lives her life for her parakeet named Pickles and good writing. The editor is Erin Renee Wahl.
